SUMMARY:THE EDINET CHARITABLE PROJECT
DESCRIPTION:For Many People with Disabilities in Eastern Europe\, a Handicap Bathroom with a Walk-in Shower is Dream that might never come true in a lifetime. We made such dreams come true.   \n  \nThe Eastern European Immigrant Hope Foundation makes all the efforts to contribute and give back to the communities living in the poorest and most needy regions of Eastern Europe. As a non-profit organization\, we strive to deliver to the needy and poor families with the necessary unconditional support\, all of this with the support of the eastern European immigrants settled in the US\, but who still realize the need for those worse off. \nAfter the 2019 Reunion in Chicago\, IL with members and supporters of EEIHF and having as guest our Honorary President\, Mr. Artur Cerari\, we were able to raise funds and donations that helped us in starting and completing the Edinet Project in no time. \nThe Edinet project is the fourth one down the line and the one of many to follow soon. One of the criteria used to select the projects would be striking a greater amount of benefit following their implementation. That is the case with the Roma family Caladaru\, in Edinet\, with many disabled children\, suffering from locomotory issues. They have lived in a small shed with no indoor bathroom or no disability accessible amenities. We\, at EEIHF\, with the suggestion of Elena Sirbu\, a Roma women activist and journalist\, and Artur Cerari convened to build an indoor handicap friendly bathroom will all amenities. The timeline and the funds were very tight and stringent. On the other hand\, we agreed that quality should not lack\, and all the handicapped accessories ought to be installed. The project milestones have been achieved in record time (3 weeks) due to great planning\, close monitoring\, and outstanding work performance by the hired building contractor. Along the way\, there were many obstacles and unforeseen circumstances\, however\, the perseverance and the laser-focused visions contributed to the completion of the project. The hosting family offered us the warm hospitality and openness to any requests. During the ceremony\, we were greeted with enormous affection by the Caldararu family. We noticed both the tears and the smile on their faces. These emotions cannot go away untouched. Seeing the joy and cheer on the children’s faces after being able to take a hot bath\, was felt with unimaginable satisfaction. But all these\, would not have been possible without your donations and contributions. \n[rl_gallery id=”1301″] \nWe invite you to watch the video about the work in progress. \nhttps://www.eeihf.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/edinet_complete_video_sd.mp4\nOn behalf of Eastern European Immigrant Hope Foundation\, we would like to offer a deep thank you for all of you making the investment in our work with your donations and membership contributions. We have proven that we can create a better community here and abroad\, and to put smiles on people’s faces. Only together\, we can build a better\, stronger community here and abroad. \nCornel Olari\, Treasurer of EEIHF and Constantin Cojocaru\, Mayor of Town of Edient. \n  \nArtur Cerari receiving compliments from Mayor Constantin Cojocaru for the great work EEIHF is doing for the Edinet community.

Mr. Cerari was enchanted to see how many fellow Eastern European immigrants spared their time to share our joy and happiness. It was truly great to observe the bond of the cultural and traditional values within the Roma and Eastern European communities. Also\, we have a special ‘thank you’ to “Minta” Restaurant & Lounge\, the host of the event in Chicago IL\, for the generous help from the administration and staff of the restaurant that greatly accommodated our needs in the pursuit of our charitable needs. \nAs with our first event of 2018\, it took much effort and preparation from the Founders and Mr. Cerari\, but the result was all worth it. \nThe speeches of the founders of Eastern European Immigrant Hope Foundation touched basis on various topics. We were able to present the achievements of the organization for the past year\, namely\, the visits in Moldova where we met with the poverty hit Roma communities. \nEEIHF President\, Mr. Razmerita\, walked us through the past achievements of the organization and the future events in Moldova and USA\, and share the great news about our Foundation’s IRS tax-exempt status. We also had Dmitry Efros\, the legal counsel for EEIHF\, who offered valuable legal information for the immigrants residing in USA. It is paramount not to forget the roots of our descendancy and keep in mind that we must care for the people who need our help in the tough times. \nThe Honorary President of EEIHF\, Artur Cerari\, culminated with his speech bringing the joy and tranquility in our souls. It was a pleasure to witness the Artur Cerari’s inspiring speech offering us both the nostalgia and optimism. We continue to assure the connectivity with our Eastern European heritage\, be it Roma\, Moldovan\, Romanian\, Russian\, Ukrainian\, Georgian\, Belorussian or anywhere else. While we have made strides as a non-profit foundation\, we still have a lot to accomplish \nWe invite you to watch the short video about this Event. Enjoy. \nDuring this event\, we were able to raise monetary funds in form of personal donations from our guests\, in addition to funds that remained from the sale of tickets for this event. We used all of it in starting and completing the Edinet Charitable Project\, for which we are very proud since we were able to finish it right before the mandatory shutdowns in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic. clink here for more information. \nIndeed\, in light of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic\, we realize that more and more people\, here in the United States\, and those who rely on us in Eastern Europe\, will turn to us for help in the moments of great need. SUMMARY:Empowering the Love for the Book
DESCRIPTION:Being a charitable Foundation towards others is a spiritual asset – one that can contribute to community building. The Eastern European Immigrant Hope Foundation (EEIHF) has regularly engages in various charitable projects here and abroad that pursue the objective of helping the people in need\, to enjoy every moment and boost the confidence and optimism. The knowledge that we are helping others is hugely empowering and\, in turn\, makes us feel happy and fulfilled. \n \n  \nDuring a recent trip to Soroca\, Moldova\, in September 2019\, the President of EEIHF\, Mr. Oleg Razmerita\, along with EEIHF Secretary for Public Relations\, Elena Razmerita\, decided to continue the support and the positive vibe within the Roma community through means of lunching the “Love for the Book” Project. \n \nOne of the hurdles that the youth of under-developed countries\, like Moldova\, encounter is the lack of school supplies\, but also the motivation to stay in school\, which reflects on the possibility of students to get full education. Today the largest number of unschooled children and those who drop-out of school by the fourth grade\, are still observed among Roma communities. \n  \nThe statistics show that the Roma communities struggle not only with the enrollment into school but staying in school too. Even after the school supplies are being provided\, the motivation to attend the school can remain very low among Roma youths\, since there is little done to empower motivation and to explain the importance of education\, in spite of on-going issues such as poverty and ethnic discrimination. \n \nThis is why we lunched the long-term Project “The Love for the Book.”  As a Foundation\, we saw that\, by getting involved and contributing effectively\, we could be nurturing motivation and boost the love for books. With the help of the International Foundation led by the Romani King (Baron)\, Artur Cerari\, whom we have engaged into partnership with\, Eastern European Immigrant Hope Foundation organized the first event in the Roma community of Soroca – as part of this new Project. Mr. Cerari came with the idea to reward the student who show good academic record with a bag of sweets and this way we would boost motivation. We endorsed this idea\, and President of EEIHF took this idea further. He explained to all children present at this opening event that our Foundation would offer great Christmas gifts\, for them and their families if they continue to show good academic results. We also made sure that teachers at those schools are informed about our project and would pass the word to all children\, so more students engage and show motivation. We were amazed by the enthusiastic sparkle of interest in the children’s eyes when we started donating bags with the sweets and telling them that it is a reward well-deserved for all good performance at school. The love for the book and motivation to get an education should be empowered and rewarded. Those children need it and we can do it! \nAfter the event\, Mr. Cerari invited us to his house where we had the privilege to taste the Roma cuisine and enjoy the great memories of Mr. Cerari’s father’s glorious past through the picture hung on the walls and the artifacts. He offered his gratitude for our commitment to turn a dream the child’s ream into reality by feeding with enough motivation. We also expressed our appreciation for the hospitality and the opportunity to come closer to the Roma community. \n

SUMMARY:The highly anticipated\, first visit to the United States of Artur Cerari! How it went?!
DESCRIPTION:Having planned the visit of Artur Cerari\, the King of all Roma\, for an extensive time\, we finally saw him touch the American soil on August 27\, 2018. The long white beard and the genuine round hat made his appearance prominent from far away. Mr. Cerari embraced us with so much charisma and sense of humor that we felt a pleasant strike of coziness around him. His jokes were so entertaining that we had a great time as he shared them with us and later with so many more of the guests at the event few days later. \nAs the time of event organized at Versailles-Pavilion Restaurant in Chicago was approaching\, all us preparing the event could notice the excitement in the air. \n  \n \nSo many were eager to meet him as well. So\, it happened on August 31st\, 2018\, at the Versailles-Pavilion Restaurant in Chicago\, IL! \nWe were overwhelmed with numerous presence at the event. People gathered from various states to enjoy the evening in the presence of Mr. Cerari. The purpose of the event was to introduce the collaboration between Foundation for the Wellbeing and Development of the Romani People “Baronul Mircea Cerari” (Mircea Cerari – was the father of Artur Cerari and the prior Baron of all Roma recognized in most of the former Soviet Union Republics) and EEIHF. \nAs we have mentioned throughout the event and as reflated by our mission statement\, we pledge to establish a milestone by connecting the community of Eastern Europeans Immigrants who settled in the US and made it their home\, but at the same time we wish that people don’t forget about their roots and help those who continue to struggle in the countries that so many of us left behind. \nThe formal part of the event consisted with several speeches addressing the audience. The founders of the EEIHF opened the night by talking to the crowd about the history of the Foundation\, Mission statement\, past\, current and future projects. Mr. Cerari then shared with us some alarming facts about the Roma life in Moldova but also communicated to us about some encouraging initiatives being undertaken within Roma community. \n[rl_gallery id=”918″] \nOur last speaker was Elena Sirbu\, an activist for Romani women’s rights\, a journalist at the Moldova 1 Television\, and president of the NGO of the Romani women in Moldova. She spoke about the need to create a unified society be it in Moldova or anyplace else and fight against any and all prejudices. Only peace and harmony in communities will contribute to a healthy development of the interethnic relationships. \n \nWe were glad that she was able to be present at the event and gather great material for the TV series Petalo Romano – for which she is the presenter. The program talks about the life\, struggles and achievements of the Romani people in Moldova. The program dedicated to this event focuses on the event in Chicago and shows that it is possible to have strong and supportive communities overseas! We invite you all to watch this program here: https://trm.md/ro/petalo-romano/petalo-romano-emisiune-din-20-septembrie-2018/ \nhttps://eeihf.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/first_visit_usa_artur_cerari.mp4\n  \nThe artistic part of the event was led by the folk ensemble “Doina Basarabiei” that brought joy and happiness in the ball room as well as by Mr. Cerari who played the accordion and sang beautiful Moldovan-Romani folk songs\, and of course the colorful and joyful Romani dancer! \n  \n  \n  \n \nIt was a great start of our collaboration with the Foundation for the Wellbeing and Development of the Romani People — “Baronul Mircea Cerari” — and we hope that our next event will dwell on the positive vibe created in Chicago. We believe that one of the most important objective sought during this first event was to bring the community together and to build trust — which\, by far\, has been achieved. \n  \n \nTrust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships. – STEPHEN R. SUMMARY:Trip to Soroca 2017
DESCRIPTION:Once the idea to form this Foundation came to the mind of its founders\, the desire arose to actually visit one of the place where so many of our supporters find their roots. The Soroca City of Moldova is the place that a lot of Eastern European Immigrants can associate with.  Speaking of the Romani people of America\, they can definitely see why Soroca is such dear place. This city hosts the largest concentration of the Roma people in Moldova and is the home of the Roma Baron (Romani King) of all Roma of Moldova Artur Cenrari. The trip to Soroca led us to the welcoming and beautiful house of Mr. Cerari. \n \nHis big house has seen prominent guests such as the U.S. Ambassador to Moldova William Moser and the Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiol.  We also had a chance to know better this man\, to know his story\, his aspirations\, and his dreams. His grey beard is immaculate. He is a warm and charming person. The most famous “King of the Gypsies\,” was the legendary Baron Mircea Cerari\, the father of the current Baron. Artur Cerari\, the King’s son\, a Baron himself\, and the successor\, remembers his father with bright eyes and melancholy. \n \nAfter a wonderful meal with Romani style stuffed cabbage with turkey bones\, Mamaliga (traditional Moldovan bread)\, and Romani style roasted turkey served with a delightful Moldovan cognac and a Romani salute\, we got to work. We drove around and distributed Christmas present to the poor and earth-forgotten Romani children and seniors. \n \nOur first stop was visiting one of the public housing\, a soviet style old building\,  that housed tens of  Roma children and there we distributed chocolates\, sweets and sodas which cheered that cold winter day. So many of them see this kinds of treats so rarely in their life and it cheered us even more to hear their sincere  thanks and smiles on their faces. \n \nNext stop was visiting households of Roma seniors to whom we distributed basic foods such as sunflower oil\, wheat flour\, rice\, and canned turkey. For most of them this would be the ingredients used to prepare their holiday meals and we were grateful to help them doing that.   \n  \n  \nThe Eastern European Immigrant Hope Foundation achieved one its first projects: to put smiles on people’s faces during the past winter holidays and we want to set-up the pathway for future charitable activities with your help. Most of us are immigrants of Eastern European Immigrants or their descendants and
