We were born seeing the need for an organization that would help connect people of Eastern European heritage, specifically those from the post-Soviet Union territories. The scattered community of Eastern European Gypsies (or Roma) in the U.S. and the conversation the EEIHF founders had with the leading Romani organization in Eastern Europe, naturally called for this Foundation to be born.
